Visiprise and EDS to Collaborate on Manufacturing Industry Solutions

Agreement expands both companies' manufacturing solutions

ALPHARETTA, GA - March 10, 2003 - Visiprise, the recognized leader in manufacturing execution systems, and EDS, the leading global services company today announced an agreement to engage in cooperative product development, sales and support. As a first step, Visiprise SCE™, a web-based collaborative manufacturing execution system, and EDS PLM Solutions' ground-breaking Teamcenter® Manufacturing solution will be tightly integrated, providing a new level of connectivity across product design, manufacturing planning and shop floor execution.

This agreement addresses the manufacturing planning and execution needs of the discrete manufacturing companies in key industries including aerospace/defense, machinery, medical devices, and high tech industries. "We can now provide manufacturers a powerful combination of tools and services for creating, configuring and tracking a variety of manufacturing information within the context of the overall product lifecycle," said Sean McCloskey, Visiprise CEO. "This relationship will provide our customers an integrated capability that will reduce new product introduction times, improve regulatory compliance and assist in achieving product and process quality improvement objectives."

Visiprise SCE's ability to deliver manufacturing plans and instructions to the shop floor, can now be driven directly from the fully managed product and process information configured in EDS PLM's Teamcenter. This enables the value of product design data, and manufacturing process definition to be utilized directly in shop floor manufacturing systems, maximizing data reuse and enhancing the propagation of engineering changes. The ability of the SCE product to collect detailed as-built information from the point of manufacture provides critical product and process data that can be fed back to the product design and manufacturing planning functions supported by Teamcenter.
