Visiprise Gets Kawasaki Rail Car Production on Track

Leading manufacturing facility to implement manufacturing solution

ATLANTA, GA - July 18, 2006 - Visiprise, Inc., a leader in integrated manufacturing operations solutions, today announced it has been selected by Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing Corporation for a two-phase implementation project at the company’s state-of-the-art rail car shell manufacturing facility in Lincoln, Nebraska.

The Visiprise solutions will be deployed in Kawasaki’s rail car division on the Lincoln campus. The facility is capable of building different types of rail cars and is ISO-9002 certified. The Lincoln campus is also home to Kawasaki’s consumer products group that manufactures ATVs, jet skis and motorcycles.

The first phase of the project is the deployment of Visiprise Shop Floor Management, scheduled for summer 2006. The system will increase production efficiency by permitting the operator to call for support without having to leave the manufacturing line.

The Lincoln facility follows the Kawasaki Production System (KPS), a flexible technique that uses efficient workflow and worker involvement to produce the highest quality product. A "just in time" supply method allows the company to eliminate expensive warehousing and over-ordering of parts. Kawasaki’s rail cars have the industry's best Mean-Time-Between-Failures (MTBF) standards, resulting in lower maintenance requirements and decreased downtime for repairs.

Phase two will include the rollout of additional functions, such as process planning, bill of material management and manufacturing change management.
